Have you been hurt by the church scamming you for money? You are not alone. But that should not be a reason to be turned off. That is exactly what Satan wants you to do; to react and not act as God has promised.
Many people are very skeptical of churches. They think all they talk about is money.
Preachers have abused, manipulated and hurt people with money messages based on greed and manipulation.
But at the same time, churches need to talk about money for many reasons:
1.    Many church people have real financial struggles. We see it on the altars, the many prayer requests asking for God to help with money and the fact that many marriages end in divorce for the reason of money.
2.    Many people’s financial problems are due to poor financial stewardship. There is a real problem of a seed eating mentality.
3. We all spend over 40 hrs. each week working for money. Money is not evil. It is a weapon and a means of making a difference. The love of money is the root of all evils…not money itself.
Don’t put this message off. Let God use it to heal you. Let God be true and every man a liar!
A steward is an official who is appointed by the legal ruling monarch to represent them in a country, and may have a mandate to govern it in their name; in the latter case, it roughly corresponds with the position of viceroy (for Romance languages), governor, or deputy (the Roman rector, praefectus or vicarius). It was also a term used to refer to the chief servant of a landed estate.
1. One who manages another's property, finances, or other affairs.
2. One who is in charge of the household affairs of a large estate, club, hotel, or resort.
Man is not the owner of the earth. When God created the earth, He gave man the work of tilling or stewardship of it. He is still the owner. We have to know what is needed for a steward.

1. Faithfulness - pass the test, faithfulness is required (1Cor 4:2).
a. Faithful with what is not his (Luke 16:12).
b. Faithful with the little, makes him handle more (Luke 16:10).
c. Faithful to manage the estate of the master the way the master likes it done.
We must pass the money test for god to use us. Before God anoints us, He looks at how faithful we have been with what He has given us. There is a level of anointing we shall never move into unless we are faithful with finances. If He cannot trust you with mammon, forget the true riches- the blessing of God, the anointing of God.  Luke 16:11So if you have not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?’
2. Integrity
3. Must overcome a seed eater mentality and have the wisdom to take five talents and convert them into ten talents. Matthew 25:19-21 “After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘You entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’ His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
4. Must be able to practice biblical generosity and biblical stewardship.

There are 2 ways of doing this.
a. Giving God what is due Him: THE TITHE
b. Generosity by giving beyond what is due Him out of the overflowing love and generosity towards Him. This is when our giving becomes one way of worship: THE OFFERINGS.
Why is money a treasure that covers everything? It is a total of all our labor, work and toil.  Money reveals our hearts, what we love. Where your treasures is there is your heart also. Your budget is a report about your financial integrity, your priorities and what your passions are. Practice biblical generosity today. Begin to tithe and give offerings and God will begin to increase you in measures you have never seen.
